Zircon occurs in a variety of colors including yellow, green, red, reddish brown and blue hues, as well as colorless. Colorless Zircon of the highest quality has been mistaken for Diamond throughout history, and is sometimes referred to as “Matara Diamond” after the City in Sri Lanka near where the stone is mined.
