The Innova DX Jay is a stable midrange that fits well into the Innova midrange lineup. It's got a teeny tiny microbead on the rim that you won't really notice. It's got the stability you look for in a mid, with some decent glide. The Jay is more of a throw just to the side of your target and let it settle mid-range than anything else.
The Jay fits a hole created in the Innova mid lineup. It's a little faster than the Roc and it's a little less stable. For folks who are consistently releasing their Mako3's on anhyzer or flipping it over, the Jay solves that problem. Let this be your go to approach disc inside 225 feet. You don't need a lot of power to get it there, you can trust it not to flip over, and it's not going to have a long fade. Choose the Jay for your safe, boring shots where you want to get into putting range without doing anything crazy. Release this disc flat and you'll have everyone asking "what was that?" after you lace your third upshot in a row 15 feet from the basket.
DX plastic from Innova is a baseline blend. It's less expensive, comes in a variety of colors and weights, and is a great choice for a mid. You won't mind the extra grip that comes from those nicks and dings in the plastic. Plus you're not ripping this disc hard, so you won't get huge gouges like you might in a baseline plastic driver.
The Innova DX Jay is a welcome addition to the mid game lineup. You'll see a little of every other midrange in this straight flyer.
